Canada School Shooting Claims Ten Lives
The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) reported multiple casualties received emergency medical care following the massacre.
Six victims were discovered deceased inside a Tumbler Ridge high school in British Columbia province, while a seventh person succumbed to injuries during emergency transport to hospital, according to law enforcement. Investigators uncovered two additional bodies at a residential property near the school believed linked to the incident.
Authorities confirmed the attacker was found dead inside the educational facility from a "self-inflicted injury," the RCMP stated.
Two critically wounded individuals required air ambulance evacuation to hospital with life-threatening trauma, while 25 additional victims underwent medical assessment at a local treatment facility, police disclosed.
The nearby Tumbler Ridge Elementary School entered temporary lockdown protocols before authorities cleared the building and reunited students with parents.
RCMP detectives have launched investigations to establish the shooter's motive behind the deadly assault.
